Scouring the South for Vegan/Vegetarian Grub

I love me some Google Maps. Especially when it comes to finding vegan bites throughout the Deep South. Through the use of Google Maps and ESPECIALLY Google Reviews, I can usually teeter and stumble my way into finding some type of culinary delight no matter where I’m traveling to.

For my day job, I travel throughout the Deep South - mostly to smaller cities that usually have a scarcity of grub that’ll appeal to my vegan lifestyle.

So, what exactly is a belly-empty Brownie like myself supposed to do? Well, I’m usually left to scour the vastness of the internet through my Android mobile device and try to find something appetizing enough to have me rubbing my tummy in anticipation. There is nothing that sparks motivation and generates ambition more than the faint grumble of the gastrointestinal tract.

More often than not…I find something that’ll suffice. Every now and again, I find a truly local gem that I’m astonished to find even exists in the town that it’s located in. I try to pay it forward as best as I can by submitting my own Google review after I’m done eating so that others in the future can get a feel for whether the joint that I’m eating at is enticing enough to visit. I try to keep my reviews light and simple…trying not to omit smaller details that may be deemed irrelevant by others (parking details, vegan vs. vegetarian options, mouth-savoring status of complimentary chips and salsa, etc.).
