I know that Google Maps has an option for LGBTQ+ Friendly designations in map listings (if not a filter… yet). I am assuming that is user-generated data since I have not seen it as a Google Guide question or review field. Given the recently SCOTUS ruling allowing businesses to rightfully refuse to serve members of the LGBTQ+ community based on their sexual orientation, what is the potential to add a field that allows Google Guide to indicate whether a business is LGBTQ friendly or unfriendly (hostile)? I know as a user, it would be helpful to know which businesses are friendly and which are outwardly hostile when making decisions about what businesses to support.

I understand that your question pertains to the United States but this form of discrimination would be a criminal offense here in Scotland, so I’m not sure Google Maps should really be seeking to provide a feature that could be seen to promote businesses who participate in discriminatory and illegal practices.
