Scientists say that people have to have parks in their cities if they want to live happy life. I know what am I talking about. I’m a science journalist ![]()
In greenery you always feel free. Free of thoughts, concerns, duties… You just feel FREE!
Everything you need (in my case) bike, favourite music in your earphones, thermos of tea and couple of candies and… of course bivan. (If you still don’t know about this russian invention for fans of traveling, you have to find out!)
Many of my friends ask: why do you go to Moscow parks on weekends when you have so much nature in the vicinity of your house? I would say: I like good infrastructure, new places, good food in cafes, proper bike lanes, interesting people and unusual playgrounds for my kids.
Google Local Guides experience started for me from Park Ostankino where my daughter that year did her first steps!
We just had a bike ride and I understood that I want to help other people find out about teahouse Russkiy Chay (Russian Tea). Google asked me about this place and… Things are up and running!
Now we have a bike route for 30 kilometres in parks of Moscow which we do every spring for more than 5 years. And now we look how to elongate it for 60 and even 100 kilometres. Imagine? You can spend a whole weekend in parks!
And where? In the heart of Russia! Do you know anything better to be truly… madly deeply… happy? I’m not.
My own list of favorite parks of Moscow you can find here: https://goo.gl/maps/oJCMZCtpiL3ujWLB9. There you’ll find for example best place where lilac amazingly flowers every spring ![]()
