What dragged me to be a regular contributor in google maps is my interest towards mobile photography. I enjoy clicking on my Pixel 2 XL – especially landscapes involving greenery. As one can infer from my posts on maps and social media, the place I click most is Munnar which is approximately 100km from my hometown. It’s a 3.5hrs scenic drive through towns, villages, and mountains. In Each visit to Munnar, I experience altogether a different place – the roads, the sceneries and obviously the weather keeps on changing! To add to the uniqueness in every trip, I had chosen different mode of transport – Motorcycle, Car, Private Cab and Public Transport. Below are the various pictures shot during my visits to munnar.
Followed by sceneries, I click to review Hotels (especially during night - thanks to Google Camera Night Sight). One such trip that I remember as a Local Guide is my family trip from Kochi to Munnar during November 2018. We had stopped at a small restaurant for snacks. Since there was a delay in preparation, I went out to click few pics of the hotel and surroundings, and the restaurant staff was noticing me. I guess he understood it was for some kind of reviews – and the same reflected in his behaviour as well. I could easily distinguish the service before and after clicking. After clicking and getting back to seat, I could see a friendly waiter and an exceptional service – which used to be limited to 3+ star rated hotels in our area. The staffs may or may not have faked the service – but that incident made me proud as a local guide, since at the end it’s the customer who’s benefited through such positive encounters and the gestures will gradually be a part of the restaurant’s culture benefiting everyone.
