Savory crepes

Created these savory crepes with sourdough starter discards.

The filling is shredded leftover lemon chicken with fresh red cabbage, sour cream and fresh basil.

The crepe is made of sourdough starter, mixed with eggs, milk, vegetable oil, ap flour, with sugar and salt.

Hello @ShipraMitra ,

Thank you for sharing these photos with us, the crepes look very delicious!

Is this an improvisation that you created, or you saw it somewhere? Did you try the same crepes with other fillings?

Could you please share the exact recipe of making the crepes with us? Is it the usual one with flour, milk and eggs?

Next to crepes, are there other things that you like to cook?

Hi @BorrisS ,

The crepe recipe started asa need to make something with my sourdough discards.

I have been making sourdough bread, and need to feed the starter regularly.

The recipe for the crepe is from little spoon farm, link below:

https://littlespoonfarm.com/sourdough-crepes-recipe/#sourdough-crepes-recipe

I have done different variations, adding 2 tsp fresh orange zest to the batter. To make it a little adultish, I have also added 1 tsp old monk rum once.

The filling is always improvised, depending on what is in the house, and whether we want sweet or savory. This specific one is from leftovers. Each crepe has 2 tbsp shredded red cabbage, 2 tbsp sour cream, half chicken thigh torn into few pieces from lemon chicken, and 2 fresh basil leaves.

Hope you enjoy making them. Please post pictures if you have. Lmk if you want more tips

Happy cooking!
