Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay Kuthi ( শরৎ স্মৃতি মন্দির ) is a house of Bengali novelist, Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, in the village of Samtaber in the Howrah district of West Bengal, India on the banks of the Rupnarayan river.
In the year 2007, his house is declared as a heritage building.
He was a Bengali novelist and short story writer of the early 20th century. Most of his works deal with the lifestyle, tragedy, and struggle of the village people and the contemporary social practices that prevailed in Bengal.
The novelist lived in the house for 12 years.
During his stay in this house, the author wrote several popular short stories and novels, including his last novel ‘Bipradash’.
During the freedom struggle of India, his house served as an important shelter for the revolutionaries.
