Gai Jatra, gai means cow and jatra means festival in and Nepal Bhasa Saparu is a festival celebrated in mainly in Kathmandu Valley by the Newa community. The festival is generally celebrated in the month of Bhadra generally in August–September.

These are some really scary costumes @RaunakMaskay , It makes me wonder what is being celebrated at this festival.
Can you tell us a bit more about the celebration and what goes on there?
Newa Families whose family members has passed away within last year send people mostly children, dressed as cows to parade on the streets. The festival is dedicated to death ones and also to ease the pain. There is fun laughter as people dress up like freaks, sing songs perform dances to ease the pain.
