Sandstorms in AlKhobar City

Sandstorms are very common in the part of region where I live (Alkhobar city). This natural occurrence is usually associated with the weather change and from the past few years the frequency of this phenomenon has increased because of the global warning (Reference). It is compulsory for locals and residents (like me) to wear the face masks in order to avoid the chronic breathing and lung problems which are associated with the inhaling of dust particles (Reference). The main issue which we face during the sandstorms are the increase in number of accidents. The local traffic authority in the Alkhobar city, do share the information regarding the traffic status of roads and the necessary instructions which needs to be followed in this kind of weather.

For me personally the main reason why I don’t like the sandstorms is because I have to dedicate my weekend day for car wash.

The sandstorms do effect the cities located in KSA, Qatar and UAE. But as you said the intensity of the storm is very high in the rural areas because of their close vicinity to the deserts.
