Sand Bank Maldives

“Life is a book and those who don’t travel read only a page”.

I am a firm believer of the fact that one of the ways to broaden horizons and better understand the world is through travel, and so me and my family make it a point to keep the explorer spirit alive by travelling to a new destination each year or as and when possible. Together we have been to many beautiful and picturesque location, both locally and abroad as well.

Recently we could fulfil our long pending desire of visiting the pristine and beautiful country of the Maldives. Maldives is a group of islands, situated in the Indian Ocean. The country enjoys a beautiful weather owing to its proximity with sea and has a vast diversity in terms of both flora and fauna. There are a lot of places close to my heart in the Maldives, however the closes to my heart is the sandbank situated at near mafushi. Sandbanks are natural formations, made by deposition of sand, thereby resulting in the creation of a natural shallow beach. We took half a day tour of the said sandbank and were fortunate enough to see dolphins, swimming next to our tour boat, as if trying to say hello. This one experience of dolphins dancing around us as if we are one made me feel connected to the rhythm of the universe, in that one moment I felt an inexplicable joy, a sense of pure bliss. It felt as if that we were standing in middle of nowhere, surrounded by a vast, unforgiving yet a beautiful ocean.

Overall the journey to the island nation of Maldives was one of the most memorable journeys I have ever been on and I would highly recommend all people, esp couples to visit Maldives to get lost in the beauty of the nature to rediscover urself.https://youtu.be/StAwmXqi3Wo
