Salsa Verde and Chicken Tacos!

Salsa Verde.gifI was impressed by @LaloPadilla Salsa Verde recipe, which he posted some time back. I wanted to try that from a long time. Here is my effort with some variations to it.

Here are the steps I took prepare the Salsa Verde. It came out very good. Thanks Lalo!

Step 1: Remove Skin from Tomatillo

Step 2: Wash Tomatillo

Step 3: Cut Tomatillo in to half and spread it on baking try, prepare for broiling, broil for 5 Mins in an oven

Step 4: Remove from the oven after broiling (Also added some Garlic while broiling)

Step 5: Chop some onion, couple of Jalapeno Pepper and Cilantro and Lemon juice

Step 6: Add Broiled Tomatillo, Chopped Onion, Cilantro, Jalapeno peppers, lemon juice and salt to taste in to a blender. Blend in to thick puree. Salsa Verde is ready to serve.

Step 7: Serve with Tortilla Chips, I like this blue Tortilla chips from Trader Joes, these are awesome!

Extra Kick!: I like my Salsa spicy, I also added 3/4 Habanero pepper in to the blender to get some extra kick. I ended up buying too many Habanero peppers, I need some new recipes, Team Taco please help me!

Also made some Pico De Gallo with of course using some Thai Chilies. It came out good too.

Now comes the Chicken Taco. I am too lazy to cook chicken, it takes too much effort, marinating, grilling etc. I take a short cut, by buying grilled chicken pieces from Costo. I just remove from refrigerator, heat it up on a grill and add Taco seasoning on top of that. I also grill onions and bell peppers and add Taco seasoning which is available in Costco as well. Add the Salsa Verde prepared on top.

Add some Mexican Cheese blend and Cilantro on top, my Chicken Taco is ready to eat!

Wow, nice try @jayasimha78 ! A really nice one indeed. :grinning:

Extra points for that! Hahaha.

Those chicken tacos and salsa verde look amazing @jayasimha78 , One order to go please!

Thanks for using the recipe with little tweaks, like I said in my post every family has its version, lemon juice add a nice touch to the salsa, those blue tortilla chips are great, I can’t remember if they are the same but I have bought them at Costco, speaking of which, is a great place to buy food hahaha, I love the pizza and sadly the fast food area has reduced the menu, I miss the Pulled pork sanwich and the turkey, provolone sandwich and the churro :sleepy: Are those still available in the US?

@LaloPadilla Thank You! Order is coming your way. Checked costco menu they still have Churro and Turkey Provolone Sandwich. Pulled pork is missing. So do you have costco in all big cities in Mexico?

Hello friend, @jayasimha78

Up to the chicken part is ok - as a vegetarian - I left the rest.
