This was one of the first places tha we went when I was in Montreal.
It is located in Mont Royal, you can get there in metro really easy ( really, using Google Maps is IMPOSSIBLE to get lost, it gives you the time when it will arrive), it is in front of College Notre-Dame.
When you enter you can take the stairs, escalator or elevator, to get to the top, in the first floor there is a small chapel, and above it there is the huge basilica.
The basilica has an enormous Dome that you will get impressed once you are there, the guide told us that it is the largest Dome in Canada and one of the largest in the world( Sorry I can´t remember the size).
Next to the basilica there is the Garden of the Way of the Cross, which has statues, I liked it a lot because theres a lot of peace in that place.
It has a museum and a gift shop.
One thing that i like from this church is the air circulation.
I think it is no need any air conditioning machine. The fresh air come inside throug h the door and the lower window and the heat air will upward and out from the window near the roof top. Right ?
Thanks for sharing. The basilica looks lovely. When did you visit Montreal? Was this your first trip there? The Dome seems enormous and reminds me a bit of the Dome in Florence.
I haven’t been to Canada yet, but I was lucky to visit Florence. It has many cathedrals worth seeing and overall the city is so ancient and historical.
