Saint Joseph's Oratory

This was one of the first places tha we went when I was in Montreal.
It is located in Mont Royal, you can get there in metro really easy ( really, using Google Maps is IMPOSSIBLE to get lost, it gives you the time when it will arrive), it is in front of College Notre-Dame.
Inside/Outside

When you enter you can take the stairs, escalator or elevator, to get to the top, in the first floor there is a small chapel, and above it there is the huge basilica.

The basilica has an enormous Dome that you will get impressed once you are there, the guide told us that it is the largest Dome in Canada and one of the largest in the world( Sorry I can´t remember the size).
Next to the basilica there is the Garden of the Way of the Cross, which has statues, I liked it a lot because theres a lot of peace in that place.
It has a museum and a gift shop.

@LaloPadilla thanks for the pictures. It’s one of the few places in Montreal I’ve never been. Did you go up the stair on your knees

@Melissa_Langlois Its worth visiting it. No, I didn´t  . they showed us the reserved stair for it, here in México there is also that tradition and a lot of people do it.

Hai @LaloPadilla .

I love your picture very much,

One thing that i like from this church is the air circulation.

I think it is no need any air conditioning machine. The fresh air come inside throug h the door and the lower window and the heat air will upward and out from the window near the roof top. Right ?

Keep calm, stay healthy and always be happy

Hi @LaloPadilla

Thanks for sharing. The basilica looks lovely. When did you visit Montreal? Was this your first trip there? The Dome seems enormous and reminds me a bit of the Dome in Florence.

I haven’t been to Canada yet, but I was lucky to visit Florence. It has many cathedrals worth seeing and overall the city is so ancient and historical.

You are right @BudiFXW !

Theres a lot of fresh air circulation

I visited it in July, Monreal was 30° C and inside the Oratory there was a nice temperature

When did you visited it?
