Safdarjung Tomb, Delhi

Safdarjung Tomb is a stunning Mughal-era monument located in Delhi, India. Built between 1753 and 1754, it serves as the tomb of Safdarjung, a noble in the Mughal Empire. The tomb is known for its grand architecture, which includes a large central dome, elegant gardens, and intricately designed mausoleum. It’s often compared to the Taj Mahal for its architectural style, though it’s somewhat less ornate.

Wonderful photo of the Safdurjung tomb @Devendermeena

The lighting is seen from inside - artificial light and also from outside - natural light of the sunset :+1:

There is an interesting thing about the tomb’s dome.

If you observe, a few white and a few yellow blocks are in the dome.

Those white blocks were stolen from the nearby tomb of Abdur Rahim Khan-i-Khanan

Whenever I hear about Mughal architecture, there are always tombs, tombs, tombs, tombs, more tombs and an endless number of tombs.

They all look almost the same - domes and minarets.

I wonder if they knew anything other than tombs in their so-called Mughal architecture

How long did you need to wait for the perfect weather and lighting?

Well done.
