Capetownians are privileged to live here. There is no better way to explore a city or its surrounds than on your own two feet and in your own time. Cape Town is a lifestyle city and running and trail running are popular pastimes. Table Mountain is right at our doorstep and the perfect start ( amongst many others) to your trail running experience.
I just love getting out into nature- its my therapy, my soul-food and my regular dose of exercise. And I want to share it with you all.
A few tips though
- Always ensure you have enough hydration
- The mountain has claimed many lives so ensure you are prepared with
- a fully charged cellphone, the emergency numbers which might be required ( they are on the notice boards at the start of the routes)
- space blanket
- whistle
- first-aid kit
- Sadly, it is recommended to have a small pepper spray as Cape Town, like so many other cities internationally, is not immune to crime.
