Ruins of the Hospital San Nicolas de Bari, Colonial City, Santo Domingo

The San Nicolás de Bari hospital was the first hospital in America. It was built in 1503 in Santo Domingo de Guzmán, capital of Hispaniola (current Dominican Republic. It was founded by Nicolás de Ovando, who was then governor of the island. Today only ruins remain and is currently located in the Colonial City o Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo; on Hostos street, corner to Luperón street.

Yes, the tourims is wonderful in this country and this monimento it´s in the Colonial City an important place of the Dominican Republic, i have an other pics from the Colonial City in my profile, I will be up more pics from this City.
