Rovaniemi Finland, something to see, a few words from one local guide

Hi

I am proud local guide from Rovaniemi Finland. I have been taking pictures all over my home town. Town is mostly known for Santa Claus. There has been quite many celebrity visitors the last winters. Avid instagram followers have seen Game of Thrones ice sculptures, Kardashian holiday pictures, northern lights in all their glory and so on.

My pictures and reviews are for both tourists and local people. I have been also taking pictures from some frisbee golf tracks, snowmobile races, Swedish ice oval races, old car shows and drag races. I want to show that it is as interesting to see the summer in Finland as it is seeing the winter. In the winter we have weeks we don’t see sun at all, but in the summer we have weeks that the sun doesn’t set.

There is a lot to experience, so one should book a few more days, not only a day trip to visit Santa. Reindeer and husky safaris. Noticing that it is not actually dark in the middle of the night, snow and stars make a big difference.

For me, being in Rovaniemi, seeing all the tourists, meeting people all over the world, talking with them, it is like travelling and staying at home the same time. Not bad at all. Rovaniemi might look like a quiet town up north, but it is actually university town, and we have exchange students from everywhere.

Rovaniemi, check it out, could be something to put on your bucket list.
