Hi Local Guides!! How are you in this worldwide lockdown issue due to COVID-19?
For the last couple of weeks I am keeping myself in home and within these days I learnt how to prepare ‘Roshogolla’. First of all, let’s know what a couple of words about 'Roshogolla’.
Roshogolla Intro:
Roshogolla is a traditional dessert item of Bangladesh. It is sweet in taste and very fluppy, delicious. In Bangladesh, in each and every good occasion like securing good place in exam or in new year, people usually celebrate the occasion by biting on this sweet dish. Let’s know how to prepare it.
Boil milk first. When it is about to boil, add 2-3 spoon vinegar in it. Keep stirring the milk.
After stirring for for 3-4 minutes , separate the curdled milk(ছানা in Bengali) from the water using a cotton cloth. Wash the curdled milk to remove smell of vinegar.
Drain off 95% of the water of the curdled milk by pressing the curdled milk by hands and allowing 15 minutes to drain the remaining water.
Stage-2: Prepare balls
Add one teaspoon of flour and one teaspoon of sugar with the curdled milk. Mesh it until it becomes soft and easy to make balls.
Make small balls of around 2-3 cm using the curdled milk. From 1 litre of curdled milk you can produce around 14 balls.
Stage-3: Cook
Mix 200 gm of sugar with 600-700 ml of water and boil it in high heat.
Drip the balls into the mix and cook for next 25 minutes.
Stage-4:
Take off the Roshogolla in a plate and serve it.
