Google Maps has been a good help to people around the world. I could remember the days when things were so difficult to locate on the physical maps, every time we were on any journey we had to highly dependent on the local people, whose mood was something unpredictable. Not all the details provided by them were 100% true. But the introduction of Google Maps has really made an impact on society. With added features like Local Guide, even local people are able to contribute towards the success of Google Maps. It enables each and every Google Maps user to add missing places, give reviews about the services and features provided by the shops/stores/business groups, can share their experience related to their journey, can connect their small business to the online world, and tonnes of other things.
Since I come from the village area, there are many people who are less familiar with the city like area, they had to rely on people for the directions whenever they had to go for any work or competitive exams. But, now I can see the change. Every youth has got an android phone and make use of Google Maps to know every detail of the place they go to. This is something which depicts the perfect example of how Google Maps has empowered the people.
Now, coming to me, I started contributing to Google Maps from the year 2015. I had uploaded the 360-degree image of my school which has the most number of views amongst the other images uploaded by me. I started contributing more actively after I faced problems at the repair centre. That day I decided that I won’t let others suffer the same way I did and became a local guide. People even give likes and comments to the reviews that I give, because of those small reviews they could understand a lot about that place.
In a nutshell, if one has to conclude about Google Maps, there is no doubt it has changed the mindset of the people to help others. Now, it’s even easier to find places and things that they offer. And, I would like to thank the whole Google team to introduce something that has truly revolutionized the tourism industry.
