A beautiful town about 50km from London, easily accessible by train from Saint Pancras station, London. Visited here February 2018 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Of interests are Rochester Cathedral, Rochester Castle (a beautiful ruin but still managed to have a small museum operating, costs £5 to enter), and Eastgate House (almost exclusive works of Charles Dickens). It was winter so not many tourists about. High Street shops, most are vacant, but still has enough cafés and restaurants and bric-à-brac shops. Worth a visit.
