Roast your own coffee beans here - Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters

Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters is one of the right places for coffee lovers, creators and bloggers. Sit, open the laptop and mark your presence to social world from this coffee place.
I recently stepped into the world of coffee. While researching for the best, I got to know Blue Tokai. The most attracting feature of this coffee chain is it’s beautiful name, i.e. Blue Tokai. ‘tokai’ is a malabari word which means ‘Tail of a peacock’. Amazing choice of a creative name. Thanks to Namrata and Matt for opting this creative term for a coffee chain.

Lets have a look at one of its outlet in Jaipur…

What an ambiance for a cafe, really good!!!

I had a sip of the Pour Over coffee and a Blue Tokai Banana Pancake, which was delicious.

The recent status of my mind to traverse all the outlets of Blue Tokai India. So I reached the Delhi outlet which is located in Saidulajab colony in Saket area.

We will meet again on another coffee meet in a new and different experience.!!!

Coffee is one of my favourite topics @DrunkenChimp there are nearly as many bespoke coffee roasters in Melbourne as there are craft brewers.

I enjoyed your article thanks for responding to the challenge set by @AdrianLunsong

I was in India in 2006. Chennai, Pondicherry and a few other spots @DrunkenChimp

Hi @DrunkenChimp ! Thanks for writing this post and taking part in the Connect Writing Challenge! If you’ve seen some of my responses to other posts in this challenge, you will know that I can be quite nitpicky! So, I hope you don’t mind me breaking down your post!

I think your post started off really well; it’s got a nice introduction to Blue Tokai and you explained the meaning behind the name. You put some background and context behind your visit to the place, and from your video, you’ve done a great job capturing the visuals!

However, I felt that the story didn’t have a good flow. I kept re-reading your post and the information is mostly there but I think there are areas where you could expand with more details and maybe a restructuring of the content. As I said, you had a good intro, you had some details in the middle but the ending felt weak.

If I could suggest an outline as such (each point is a paragraph):

  • Introduce yourself, explain your passion, introduce the coffee shop, mention location (link to maps)
  • talk about the meaning behind the name, how did you come to know of this information, you mentioned the owners by name… do you know them, did you get to speak to them
  • talk about the food, the coffee, is it good, how is it better/worse than other places, are there a variety of beans to buy? Show some food pics
  • talk about the ambiance, the decor, the atmosphere, is it a casual place, do students frequent the place, is it designed for people to sit on laptops all there or a for casual diners? Show some pics of the place
  • summarise your experience, how did it make you feel, do you want to go back again, find out from the readers if they could share their favourite cafe experience

Your photos are lovely by the way although there are areas that I could see improvements in like composition and angle. It’s a subjective area but I see your photos and I would have my own style of taking it. Just to list out a few examples:

  • framed picture of Blue Tokai logo - I would have tried to capture the shot dead centre and perpendicular so that the picture frame is straight on all sides
  • picture of bottle - felt the crop is too tight at the top because the top of the bottle hits the top of the photo.
  • view of customer - photo could be straightened a bit. Elements on the right side (the curvature of, I believe, a mirror) should either be cropped out or more fully included in the photo
  • looking through the door - angle could be better, maybe it’s not possible but try for concentric circles
  • second looking through the door - the crop on the door handle… either fully crop it out or keep it all in, the half way crop makes it look weird
  • the other food/cup pics are great.

Again, they are all my personal preferences, and I may be completely wrong. Oh, and I know these are more artistic style photos but you should always include captions!

I hope you find my comments useful. You are free to disagree with them but hopefully it will get you thinking about some of the areas anyway! Overall, it’s a good effort and I look forward to your next post!
