Road approvals-Has it changed?

Hello dear TRACians and road editors alike,

Our normal range of road approvals is from 1-90 days after which it gets rejected. Now the screenshot above is an E-mail I got at 8.18am GMT+0. Its an edit I did on 15th January.

Seeing I got it today that’s makes it almost 4 months. It’s a week shy of r months approximately 110 days. Wonder has anyone noticed this as well especially our fellow TRACians.

@tony_b
@ErmesT and others not on the telegram group.

Happy mapping
Cheers

No change for me @SholaIB

This morning I see 17 approval emails dated May 7th, all for edits done on May 3rd. Looking back, there was one approval on April 29th for April 25th, two on April 28th for 25th and 23rd, two on April 25th also for 23rd, and 8 on April 22nd for 22nd and 19th.

But there are so many others still pending, it can be quite discouraging at times.

Yes @tony_b

It’s quite discouraging even for me as the captain. Lol. Happy you’re getting some approvals anyway.

There are others who are having big approvals anyway so we can’t generalise it. Its hard to understand the pattern of approvals.

Thanks for replying
Cheers

I’m receiving recent approvals at a better clip in the last couple of weeks. I am, however, starting to see some late February edits sprinkled in, too. Oddly enough, today I got a big dump of pending business edits from February. Maybe Googs is doing some Spring Cleaning.

Yes, @SholaIB
Just noticed that a few of my old road edits were approved today.

Hi,

I had a similar surprise in March when I received confirmation of the approval of the road I added last October.

I don’t have the confirmation email anymore - I always delete them, checking beforehand if there are any new places to edit in the vicinity of the approved road.

I don’t do this often, but my business edits usually come through almost immediately.

How old? Were they over 90 days like @SholaIB was referring to?

I like this strategy, and it works for me. When I click the link in an approval email, it takes me back to the same area, and drawing additional roads has a high probability of getting further approvals.

Around 55 days.

I can totally relate to this. I’ve added 20 roads till date. However, out of those 20, only 2 have been approved so far (its been 40+ days). It’s definitely a bit discouraging :sad_but_relieved_face:, but I’ll keep at it, hoping for more approvals soon.
It’s reassuring to know others are facing similar challenges!

I’ll update my original response because just today I received this:

I average 90-92% immediate approval in the areas where I mainly do business edits. These were all from the remaining 8-10%. It wasn’t enough to really push the percentage up, but they were definitely a surprise.

I just read the updated response by @JustJake and it caused me to take another look at my Approval emails. Seems I got one on Saturday and three last Friday for roads submitted on January 13th. That’s 117 days to approval. Maybe there’ll be no more Not Approved emails in the future, or at least the lead time has been lengthened to a bit longer than the original 90 day maximum.

Yes @tony_b

Maybe the lenght of approval time has been increased. Maybe not !!! We haven’t any official update to that effect.

It’s interesting nevertheless to take note . When it comes to certain things on Google maps. Especially roads,we hardly have any official guidelines. All we have is our own observations. 117 days is quite long !!! Hopefully it will reduce the waste of data on our side
