Ristorsnte Villagio, Winterswijk, the Netherlands

As seasoned connoisseurs – with an eye for detail and a nose for quality – our four-legged companions - and us - knew right away that this was a special place. The warm welcome and the prompt arrival

of a water bowl for them earned immediate approval.

For us, their human companions, the surprises continued. Without us even asking, we were handed not only the lunch menu but also the dinner menu. My glass of wine was thoughtfully served with a glass of water – a small but highly attentive touch. And the food? An absolute delight. The carpaccio was perfectly tender and served at just the right temperature. The gratinated mushrooms with prosciutto and parmesan cream have made it to my list of dishes I must order again. The pane della casa with dips and the spaghetti napoletana were equally outstanding.

What completed the experience was the warm and inviting interior. It felt like visiting friends, but with the refinement of a top-tier restaurant. And the fact that our dogs were so welcome made it all the more special.

This level of hospitality and quality is rare. The whole family – including our two gentlemen on four paws – gives

Nice write up @BarkingMice . It would also be great to include the link to the Google Maps location to this place, so those in surrounding area can be informed about the exact location about the place.

I see you tagged the post for Netherlands. I’m actually going to the in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague next month. If you happen to have any good recommendations, I’m all ears

Will do @iyudhi. I hope you’ll like the Netherlands! I’m not a city girl myself (although I do love Amsterdam, Delft and Leiden) and live in the German countryside, but where Den Haag is concerned we very regularly go to Scheveningen or Kijkduin. These and other Dutch coastal towns usually offer dog parents the opportunity to take their dogs for walks off lead, outside the season (15th October - 15th May) which is of course amazing! If you’re interested in Scheveningen, check out my Maps profile, I have written multiple reviews.

Thanks for the recommendations! I’ll definitely keep those places in mind. First time going to Netherlands so everything will be new and exciting to me

The address details can of course be taken from my Google Maps contribution page, but is:
