I love Rio.
Morro dois irmãos no Vidigal overlooks Ipanema Beach. The trailhead is located in Vidigal, one of Rio’s many favelas, and a place that many Zona Sul residents would never go willingly.
Morro Dois Irmãos (aka Dois Irmãos) is an iconic rock formation at the western end of the Ipanema/Leblon beaches in Rio de Janeiro’s Zona Sul.
Chances are that if you’ve seen a photo of Rio that doesn’t involve Giant Stone Jesus, you’ve seen Dois Irmãos. At 1,749 ft (533 m) it’s taller than Pão de Açúcar (1,296 ft / 395 m), but not quite as tall as Corcovado (2,310 ft / 704 m).
Although it may not look it from the beaches to the east, reaching the top of the taller (and more western) summit is possible without ropes or climbing experience.
