Just asking, I’m level 7, is there any point of contributing since the rewards are next to nothing (at least in Finland)?
I’ll sure contribute still, but that “spark” to raise the level is gone, since there are no difference at all, are you level 1 or 10…
What are your opinions?

So, I totally understand your feeling of hope loss and discouragement. But there are thousands of Local Guides all around the world, and the is one thing that I can say, keeps us all on the go and happy to contribute to Google Maps and that is the joy of helping. Your contributions may not have any physical rewards or so, but the joy of helping millions of Gmaps users globally is the ultimate reward.
Being a Local Guide is a voluntary activity, and you should know that Google can not even pay us for what we are doing because everything we do helps them and their users and it would be degrading to say they give you a payment, it can only be called a motivation because what we do as Local Guides comes straight from a place of LOVE and HELP.
I am just trying to tell you that, please keep doing the great work you are doing in Finland and try your best to give accurate/high-quality contributions and don’t even bother much about attaining higher levels quickly.

Well nowadays yes, Google decided, why pay or offer free or discounted stuff, when people do it for free. First 5 levels were fun just to level up, but atm I see no point writing reviews on places that have already 50+ reviews. You are volunteers I get it, it’s like pokemon hunting. Some people like to do it for the sake of doing it. but to me, personally me I see no point of doing anything for free when we can earn at least something from it… but thanks for the info, now I now that going levels above is pointless for me.
