I have been a Google Maps contributor for many years—currently at Level 10—with over 325 million views, thousands of photos (many of which are featured), and numerous reviews. I receive no compensation for this, despite the vast amount of time I have dedicated to it. Wouldn’t it be reasonable for Google to reward me with, at the very least, a YouTube Premium account ?
Hello @Resston and welcome to Local Guides Connnect.
Local Guides is a community based platform that relies on voluntary contributions from users to help others make informed decisions about places. The Local Guides program encourages users to write reviews, share photos, answer questions, and edit map information. While participants earn points and levels for their contributions, the program is not designed to generate perks.

But yes, Recognition comes through badges, levels, and occasional perks, which are offered based on the quality and consistency of contributions. To be eligible for perks, users must enable perk-related emails in Local Guides settings and remain active contributors.
Participation is entirely voluntary, with the main goal being to assist others and improve the map experience for everyone.
