Luckily google offers a manual review from one of Google Map moderator and then they (until now) always published my reviews, since is quite clear that it’s not fraud, fake or scam is just my opinion posted with photos attached and the experience that I had there.
So what’s the problem here?
Seems that Google Maps “filter” is too strick on reviews or it is just removing reviews randomly.
Can we do something about it? I saw that last year many people got theirs reviews removed/hidden from google maps for an error, and moderators helped with a form to check and fix the problem of each account posting the email. Could be something similar?
Right now I can post anything on any shop, restaurants, park and it will be rejected for the same message posted above.
Is anyone else getting the same issue?
At the moment is frustrating since checking online almost ~160 reviews are hidden from google maps with the same message, even if they get views/like or they are well written and / or honest.
I hope someone can help me out and maybe report the error to Google Maps team directly.
Google is slowly expanding the notification on hidden reviews, that was started long time ago as a test in France only.
So as you said now you can ask for a check for every single review recently not published. For the old reviews the only way is the form that you already filled, but please be aware that it can take more than a month (7 to 8 weeks in my personal case) so you just need to wait.
The issue is with the amount of Fake Engagement (reviews written by request to alterations of the rating of a business). This is causing an issue to all the online platform where you can review businesses (like Maps and TripAdvisor) so that all the platform are raising the level of the filters.
Unfortunately it may happen that legitimate reviews are caught too, and need to be released.
Hi @ErmesT and @gmapas I want to add that I’ve noticed that most of the reviews that are positive (4/5 stars) or negative (1/2 stars) are rejected also by Google moderators.
They don’t tell how or what is not compliant, so the review process is difficult and quite not useful.
It seems that only average reviews (3 stars) are marked as compliant
Is there any way to understand or verify the reviews that are not compliant?
I’m starting to be very frustrated with this bad approach.
If some if your photos are public and you want me to check for violations, feel free to give me your Maps profile url (you can use pm if you prefer that)
Hi @MortenCopenhagen ,
Yes I’ve tried selecting only photos more than 1 year ago. Then after 3/4 months I’ve re-tried the form selecting both (photos and reviews) but nothing changed till today for the photos. Only for reviews.
Yes thanks, I saw your guide and was really useful!
I was just curious because since the photos are hidden how could you know if they had violated the guidelines?
At the moment I’m the only one who can see them. But maybe it’s better continue this chat in PM.
I’m my experience, violations are often also seen in photos that are not (yet) hidden.
If all your photos are hidden, then I can’t help. It is not realistic to expect Googlers to review your contributions. Keep in mind there are more than 150 million LGs.
