I have been looking for the reason why my 240 or so reviews all over 200 words are not being recognised and I’m still being badged as a novice reviewer (my reviews are being counted but only 6 show as over 200 words).

I can confirm from your public profile that you have added 246 reviews and only 9 of them are public.
This explains why you don’t have the expected numbers under your badge.
Google has automatic filters that hide your reviews so only you can see them. This can happen when some of your reviews violate the review guidelines.

Please use the form called Account investigation for contributions not visible on Google Maps if you believe that some of your contributions have been wrongfully unpublished. Please note that it can take several weeks for the check to be done, and you will not be notified about the result, so I suggest you check the status of your reviews once a week or so.
