Reviews not appearing

I posted a review yesterday for a local laptop repair shop and I noticed that it is not appearing publicly, while all my other reviews are displaying. I have read through the other posts here and have confirmed that none of my other reviews are hidden. Photos that are uploaded seem to appear without delay.

There doesn’t seem to be any indication why my reviews suddenly aren’t posting. Any suggestions or tips are welcomed!

Hello I have a similar problem, all my posts since a few weeks are flagged as spam ! i’m a fellow local guide since 10 years ! Maybe someone have an idea on how i could fix this.

@user_not_found Yep, it’s absolutely disgraceful how a trillion dollar company is handling this. Their AI filter is abhorrently broken and who knows how many complaints it will take for it to be revamped.

they seem to have a serious issue with their AI, that tries to be smarter than it should.

I’m also a victim of that: my old review after I updated it, became invisible for others as well as my ratings / reviews, that I wrote next.

They somehow chose to be silently hiding “suspicious” contributions and pretending that nothing happened instead of informing the reviewer about detecting some “problem” (even via automated emails).

I’ve been receiving lots of automated emails telling me how good Local Guide I am, but have never received a single email telling me that something is wrong with my contribution (like: “we’ve detected this or that issue - please correct it.”).

It is unbelievable that people, who sacrifice their private time for providing quality content for free, don’t deserve such an elementary attention and honesty…

What you can do is to fill in the “Account investigation for contributions not visible on Google Maps” form.
Sooner or later someone maybe will have a look at your problem, but for sure you won’t receive any answer (“we will not be able to share the results with you”).

If you are lucky, your review will magically become visible for the public.

Having a similar problem. Reviews suddenly not appearing and some previous posted photos not viewable.

Filled out the form. Waited a couple of weeks, no reply. Filled out the form again and got a reply this time. Answer:

"Thank you for contacting Google support. Based on the information provided, we are happy to confirm that there are no penalties against your account. Please log in on Connect (link was supplied but I had to remove it) in order to get full access to the forum and all the benefits of our community.

If you have any further questions please consult the Local Guides Help Centre

Thanks,

Google support."

So I put up a new review of a great little bakey. No change! Review does not appear!!

So on Google’s advice, here I am. Someone from Google needs to ‘own’ this problem. Fingers crossed… @MashaPS maybe?

I am still having the same problem. Waiting… waiting… waiting…

What is very annoying is that ridiculous places are allowed to be placed and commented on.

I often remove places where the marker is just dumped in the middle of a town with no other facts apart from a name and a general address…

What we do is actually very useful.

If we didn’t do what we do Google Maps would be extremely cluttered with mis-information!
