I had written many Reviews of international standards during my visit to NewsZeland within a year, most of them being hidden, which I think was strictly following Google policies and similar reviews already published by competitors. I know recent issues regarding hidden reviews and hidden photos, My question is why most of my Reviews hidden? Is any policy that only locals are allowed to publish reviews in the locality,
Hi @jojo522 , welcome back to Connect, and thank you for asking.
Hidden reviews are a well know issue in google Maps.
To respond to your first question you can read:
- An update on how we moderate Google Maps reviews. In there you will also find a form to appeal.
- Your review has not been published. Do you know why?. The post will give you an explanation about the size of the issue and the reason why all the websites where the review are hosted have to take an action against fake reviews
Of course you can appeal.
Regarding your second question, the answer is no, you are free to publish reviews of every place you visited, it doesn’t matter where the place is located.
However from your profile I can see that 1290 reviews are not published, so I suppose that you have hidden reviews also in other places, non only in NZ
@ErmesT Thanks for immediate response. As agreed hidden Reviews, Photos, Edits etc are very serious issues to be resolved giving very serious significance since it is affecting incentives for further contributions. Needless to say, and as such immediate solution is a must for further genuine contributions. For the first suggestions, lot of time and energy being wasted by submitting forms many times explaining reinstatement of genuine contributions, but no use. Seems to be rather biased and frustrating.
For the second suggestion which seem to be more specific needed more proper explanations as rather biased and more frustrating. Kindly note that out of my 1290 hidden Reviews 90percent was NZ Reviews especially 100percent tourist attractions Reviews being hidden. As stated earlier my reviews of similar types of international standard being published by competitors really affecting my incentives for further contributions especially planning to visit foreign countries may be resulting in losing my loyalty and contributions for reasons not of my fault but may be because of some strict policies which needed to be changed.
Thank you very much for your understanding in this regards
@MortenCopenhagen . Appreciating to resolve the above issue since the solution was not satisfactory and your valuable advise in this regards.Thanks &Regards!
The spam filter is not something we can influence. The only chance is that you acknowledge that the issue is likely on your side and then start the dreaded process of figuring out how your reviews are not up to standard. Or you could let it go.
I rarely review tourist attractions because they usually have thousands of reviews already. So why bother?
I trust you are aware of the form re hidden contributions.
@MortenCopenhagen Thanks!
