#. Reviews for More Views -1

Hi, all…

@DeniGu @Saravanakanth @JohnPeter @NandKK @karthik5 @PapiaMandal

To be a “Traveller-Photographer-Reviewer” is what I enjoy; I am trying to share my experience, in this mission through these posts.

My humble contribution of 40,000 photos in Google Maps, have helped more than 24 Million Viewers. Out of (more than) 3,000 reviews (I write Tech-Reviews, also), I have written in different media, Google Maps alone has, almost 1200.

Can we “CATEGORIZE” our Reviews? Yes, possible. (Let us Categorize our Topics, before we start)

Here, I am taking, just one example (may be, as an Indian & as a pure vegetarian, my views may have some effects, on a global platform – all are welcome to contribute, please).

“RESTAURANTS”

To me, one of the most viewed item is the “Reviews” of “Restaurants”.! Before going into the details of how, we do our reviews, here is an example, which may be interesting to you. Once you have a glance at an example, then we can go to the details (in the next post).

#. This is a Typical Special (Deluxe), South Indian, Vegetarian Meal (Lunch) served as a Second course; the first course is a Soup. After the Chapati (which is folded in the picture), we get Rice (unlimited quantity), followed by Ice Cream and Beda (Betel leaf with masala, in short)…

There are many interesting aspects, which we can be gifted to a reader, for a faster decision making - Let us see…

Thank you…

@TravellerG

Very nice and interesting article. You are right that Restaurants reviews and photos attract more number of views than anything else. Please keep writing. By the way, where did you had that Maha Thali?

Thank you dear @Saravanakanth for your valuable response,

This “Maha-Thali” was in Thiruvannamali, Tamil Nadu, India…

Thanks @TravellerG for your tips!

I really have to change my habit: as soon as the dish arrives with the food I start eating right away and then after finishing it comes to my mind that maybe I had to take a picture first!!!

Bye,

David

Thanks…

Let us Get together and make this series, useful for all…

I am going to write about 'FEW" point today… Pl see… whether it matches your experience, then kindly post one more (or many more) REPLY/ies… Please…

Hi @TravellerG ,

Just yesterday I was standing outside a new restaurant and opened Google Maps to check its reviews. So I agree with you - restaurant reviews are some of the most viewed reviews!

May I suggest that you include your review tips in this post, instead of starting a new one? This way all the information will be in one place and it’ll be easier for other Local Guides to appreciate your tips!

I personally am looking forward to reading them.

P.S. That is one big second course! Is this meal for one person? It seems almost impossible to finish it by yourself.

Hey, @DeniGu

Just yesterday I was standing outside a new restaurant and opened Google Maps to check its reviews. So I agree with you - restaurant reviews are some of the most viewed reviews!

I fully agree with you, out of my experience - I shall explain, in detail.

May I suggest that you include your review tips in this post, instead of starting a new one? This way all the information will be in one place and it’ll be easier for other Local Guides to appreciate your tips!

OK; I shall keep all “Review Tips” under this; but, Just a doubt - will it not be difficult for the readers to spot the “POSTS & Comments”? - Or you mean to say, repeat the same heading? kindly clarify me. The next “Post” is ready.

P.S. That is one big second course! Is this meal for one person? It seems almost impossible to finish it by yourself

The rice was served, separately and the Ice cream at the end…

You are very correct, even quarter of the food cant be consumed by us; however, there are local people, who do justice to this!

Thanks

Hey @TravellerG ,

I should put this three-course meal on my To-eat list! Does it have a special name?

Regarding sharing your review tips under this post, I meant that you can add new information in the post itself, not in the comments. I’m sure you know, but you can do so by clicking on the three dots in the top right corner of your post and selecting Edit post.

Dear @DeniGu

Thank you…

Point1.

You are most welcome… Really it is great…

There is no separate name for this meal - Special South Indian Thali Meals! You may laugh, with all these, it won’t cost you full $ 2… (in an Air conditioned environment).

Point: 2.

Honestly, I did not know this…

Sorry for a silly question, still… Will viewers / the tagged members come to know, that, there is a new post? I am new to this platform, hence, these questions.

Also, will it count to my number of posts? (I just crossed 50 Posts)

Thanks for your valuable guidance & time.

Regards.

Thank you for giving me so many details about this dish, @TravellerG ! It’s amazing how much delicious food one can afford with 2 dollars.

To answer your question about editing your post, tagged members do receive a new notification when you edit your publication. It doesn’t matter if you add new information or more photos, tagged Local Guides learn about it from their notifications. I personally have received two or more notifications about the same post when the author decides to change something.

Also, if you edit a post to add something new, this post is not counted towards your number of posts.

My suggestion for adding your tips under the same topic by editing that topic was just for the sake of keeping everything in one place. But if there are a lot of things you’d like to share, please feel free to present you tips in separate posts.

I hope this helps!
