I have added captions to numerous of my photos, as well as fact checked dozens or hundreds of facts. However, the caption count on my profile still says 0 and the facts checked has been stuck at 12 for like 3 years. How can I get this fixed?

In practice, it is currently impossible to earn Facts checked-points for the Factfinder badges.

You may find my post on How to check some facts - these days! helpful.
Also, please pay special attention to this update.

Thank you for your response. However, looking at your post regarding fact checking, that is exactly how I have been checking facts. However, the number of facts checked, still never increases.

@Singularity42 regarding “captions not tracking” according to my own observations there are multiple ways to add captions to uploaded photos. For me only one method yielded in increasing the numbers in my profile:

  • If you open the pace on your mobile (android in my case), look for the tab “News by customers” and add a photo there. Here you have the option to enter a caption before uploading the image. Doing so, I realized the numbers in my profile did increase and I received additional 10 points (versus 5 for any other photo).
  • However, I frequently use another method to add a caption after uploading. It is also only possibly on the mobile app by opening your profile, watching your uploaded pictures (either by date or most viewed), select one image and select the option to add a caption. Adding a caption does work! You can even see the caption, when watching you images from the desktop, but until now, I never was able to increase the number of captions in my profile nor got additional points.
  • In very rare cases Google maps even took the caption of the metadata in photos uploaded from Windows. So far, I was not able to figure out, when this does happen and when or why it doesn’t, but again, I never got points for that.

Hi @WilfriedB

I believe you might not be aware of the difference between the old kind of captions and the new type of captions related to updates from visitors. Points wise there is a huge difference.

@MortenCopenhagen I learned, there are differences, but was not aware there is an old and a new type of captions.

In any case, caption and caption is not the same. :rofl:
