Have you ever come to the restaurant in a foreign country or a city you don’t know well, looked into google maps for a reviews and tried to find some of those who they might be actual locals? I came across that problem many times, because in my opinion there is a huge difference between those reviews. If there is a person, real local who knows the city well, he or she can can judge the place the best.
And that is what I am trying to do while local guiding. I am trying to promote myself as a real local, do the great reviews and make sure people understand that my opinion has some value. Tourist can do reviews based on many things such as missunderstanding th culture. For example the proper Czech beer has a huge foam on top of the glass (0,5 litre). But sometimes the tourists gets offended that their glass is not filled by a proper amount of beer, but a lot of foam although the glass is made to hold 0,5 litre and a big foam on the top.
This is what I like to do the most - promote my area where I live in - add small businisess which can be easily overlooked by tourists, add photos of a great beer places, restaurants and monumets just to get some attention of strangers, to make their trips easier and mroe interesting.
I was always wondering if there is any way how to separate the “real locals” from strangers and tourists to get their reviews more attention. If not I would be glad to aware google maps of that idea. Does anybody has the same opining as I do?
