I am writing to bring to your attention an issue I have been facing with my Google Maps reviews not going public. For the last 6 months, I have been posting reviews regularly, but none of them seem to be getting published on the public platform.
I have attached two screenshots to this email for your reference. The first one is from my profile page, which shows that I have posted a total of 471 reviews. However, the second screenshot from the incognito tab shows that only 376 of my reviews are actually public.
I am unsure why my reviews are not going public, despite being regularly posted. I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter and help me understand why my reviews are not getting published. I have always tried to write honest and helpful reviews, and it’s frustrating to see that they are not visible to other users.
Please let me know if you need any additional information from me to resolve this issue. I look forward to hearing back from you soon.
Google has automatic filters that hide your reviews so only you can see them. This can happen when some of your reviews violate the review guidelines.
Read about typical review guideline violations here.
If you want to identify which of your reviews are hidden check this post.
Please use the form called Account investigation for contributions not visible on Google Maps if you believe that some of your contributions have been wrongfully unpublished. Keep in mind, it takes several weeks for the check to be done, and you will not be notified about the result, so I suggest you check the status of your reviews once a week or so.
Se vocĂŞ acredita que suas avaliações que foram ocultadas estĂŁo de acordo com as PolĂticas do Google peça uma revisĂŁo de sua conta pela equipe do Google utilizando o seguinte formulário:
Yes I have filled and submitted the form, but as you can see I post almost 3 4 reviews per week and none was published since last 6 months, I am pretty sure it is not specific to a few reviews but it looks like a complete block since that specific day 6 months ago. However I still get rewards and appreciation e-mails from gmaps, what I request is to let me know where I have gone wrong, so that we can correct it and help other communities to not to do that specific mistakes.
However I try to maintain the authenticity of the platform and pledge to post most honest reviews.
Thanks for the valuable response, lets’s wait for a few weeks. Meanwhile, I am trying to find if I have violated any guidelines and will try to remove any photos or reviews that do not comply with Google maps policies.
What you experienced (that all new reviews never go public) has been reported by several Local Guides in the past. It is not unusual.
Don’t let this worry you too much. Most likely it is the spam filter and not you doing things wrong.
If you can’t resist, please feel free to share the text of 2-3 of your hidden reviews and I will be happy to check if I can see anything violating the guidelines.
I think you were right, it was some filter which has been removed after I requested for my account investigation.
Finally all my reviews are back to public and as a genuine local guide I also examined my reviews and tried deleting a few photos. Which i thought looks duplicate not sure what worked but following the guidelines very strictly is the only way out of this.
To all the people finding solution for blocked reviews, i would say don’t be harsh in reviews, be genuine, one paragraph reviews mostly and most importantly no duplicate photos.
Thanks Google for making my day, working harder to share my experience with the world and making Google maps more convenient to the world.
After I got my profile investigated, my reviews were visible publically, later i posted two more which got displayed immediately, however, aftre those two none of my new reviews are getting public, they are still going into hidden mode.
It seems that the older reviews have been made public, but the new ones I am posting are still not appearing. Only two out of many have been published.
Não existe uma solução “definitiva” para isso. Você terá de utilizar o formulário quantas vezes necessário for para regularizar seus comentários.
I encountered a similar situation. The images I contribute to places are publicly visible, but the accompanying reviews are not publicly visible. This has been happening for about 3 months now.
I filed a complaint and Google replied: “Based on the information provided, we are happy to confirm that there are no penalties against your account” but my problem is still not solved,
I’m very sad and don’t want to post reviews anymore.
“And also, the form “Account investigation for contributions not visible on Google Maps” (sent 3-4 weeks but no response) but the problem is still not solved.”
Sorry to say but I don’t agree with you. I also posted a review when I visited one archaeological site but unfortunately no one can see my review only I can see it. Sadly, this was not my last time.
Multiple reviews are not published even after 3+Months, Note I have followed Guideline strictly, should I submit form for each such unpublished reviews?
I’m noticed similar issue and it has been happening since last few months. I can see my contributions there are 364 reviews, out of which only 298 are publicly visible.
What I got to know is that the reviews are not going public because they my policies or they could be filtered out as spam. However, after multiple modification too some reviews are just not getting published publicly. And this is buggy.
It raises questions, whether we can even trust Google Reviews anymore because whatever algorithm they are using to moderate reviews is filtering out genuine reviews without stating any reason why it might be rejected.
