This week, we’re loving Local Guide Kim Ellis’s review of Zucchelli Station in Antarctica. He provides a peek inside this Italian research station. Antarctica is mostly known as a destination for explorers looking for adventures and scientists looking for answers. Thanks to Google Maps and dedicated Local Guides, we get to see not only Antarctica but also get a glimpse inside some of the scientific stations there.
What’s great about Kim Ellis’s review is that he describes the place by providing details of his stay and even evaluating the quality of the food just like he would do for a café or hotel. His review reminds us of the Local Guides’ mission, which is based on the unique experiences Local Guides share through their contributions. These experiences are equally important whether we review the shop around the corner or a place on the other side of the globe.
We don’t know when we’ll be able to visit Antarctica, but if we ever do, we now know where to find delicious pizza, good coffee, and Italian ice cream.
