This week, we’re loving Local Guide @vijayparadkar ’s review of Shree Mahalaxmi Mandir in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India. This place is a 12th-century Hindu temple, known for its elaborate sculptural details. We love Vijay’s review because it’s incredibly descriptive and provides a lot of detail and information about the temple.
In addition to describing the area beautifully, he also provides helpful information that will be useful for those going to visit: “The temple is nicely maintained, it is clean and neat. There are several shops selling things that you need to worship the goddess. It is a Divine place but thousands of people visit this temple as a pilgrimage, hence it is crowded all the time.”

We stayed there in month of April’19. Location is on some height so weather is cooler than mall road and peaceful. You have to take taxi every time to reach hotel (per trip 150 when provided by hotel) but to down from there you can take a short cut on foot to save the money, which take aprx. 20-30 minutes up to Mall road. Hotel staff is cooperative to show you the way. Room telecom is not available so you have to go down every time you need something. Food is delicious at reasonable cost. To see the rent, provided services are appropriate.
