Review not posted. This review doesn’t follow our content policies.

Hi Everyone,

Lately, like for 6 weeks, I have had reviews that were not posted with this attached message: Review not posted . his review doesn’t follow our content policies.

Here is the translation of the last refused post: First time I left my dog in a kennel and everything went very well: a shy dog at the beginning but happy … to see me again but also of his stay. Thanks to the team for their work, I will come back!

I can understand what fraud and unwanted content are; however my review are genuine and do not infringe any google maps policies.
It is getting frustrating because even if I edit the post with similar content , it keeps getting refused.

Why is this happening lately? Is there something I can do to solve this?

Thanks for the help

@MortenCopenhagen , Hi

Thanks for the link and Happy Xmas!

I have checked the link and filled in the form. Actually, nothing has changed on my side, most of my posts are now getting refused.

The weird part is that I have opened a new google account and posted the same reviews. The ones that I refused , in my real account as me, are all accepted in the new account. No breach of policies in the new account. Very disappointing.

Is there an explanation for that?

Again, thanks for the help.

Hi @Jay-Gee-Jerome

Posting the same reviews twice is not only against the guidelines it is proabably the easiest violation to check for Google.

Also having more than one Local Guides account can get you in deep trouble.

Delete all duplicate reviews and leave the Local Guides Program with your second account.

Also, hidden reviews can be considered a warning also for violations not related to reviews.

Hi Morten

It was an experiment to check if the content if the posts was breaking policies. Apparently not as it is gratefully accepted.

I will remove, still not understanding.

Hi Morten,

Thanks again for your message.

I do not have hidden reviews, or I am not aware of any of them.

Is there a way to check for hidden reviews?

All the best, really appreciate your help.

It would be beneficial if you would use the tagging tool when replying to someone here on Connect. Type @ followed by the username. Type slowly. Then we get an e-mail notification and you are more likely to get a prompt reply.

I can confirm from your public profile that you have added 870 reviews and only 775 of them are public.

Google has automatic filters that hide your reviews so only you can see them. This can happen when some of your reviews violate the guidelines, including:
Prohibited and Restricted Content
Format Specific Criteria (See under Text Reviews and Captions)

Read about typical review guideline violations here.

If you are on a Desktop use this link to Count your hidden contributions. From a mobile device use this link.

If you want to identify which of your reviews are hidden please see this post.

Please use the form called Account investigation for contributions not visible on Google Maps if you believe that some of your contributions have been wrongfully unpublished.

Best of luck
Morten

Thank you, this is tremendously helpful. I had no idea.

I have seen some of the reviews taking time to be published, I thought that was due to long consistency delays. No clue they were banned.

Now that I have read how to post correct reviews from your posts here, I am embarrassed to say I do not usually violate voluntarily google policies, which means no cheats, trying to stay polite etc… It makes things difficult to identify them and make them compliant.

Now, if I take time to review and make corrections on my reviews, would that change something on my status and becoming a reliable/relevant guides? Or should I abandoned the idea of being "reliable/relevant " again in Google’s point of view?

Thanks @user_not_found for your extremely valuable help and articles. Much appreciated.

@Jay-Gee-Jerome

With that many reviews I would suggest you clear up a subset of 50 or maybe 100 and then try the form. That way you will not be wasting a ton of time.

But keep in mind that hidden reviews can be caused by other violations not linked to reviews.

So I can not guarantee this will be solved.

Cheers
