I have already submitted an official appeal, but it was rejected because the system detected multiple Google accounts. I believe this was caused by accidentally using my company account for a small number of Google Maps contributions.
I am writing to kindly ask for one final manual review of my Local Guide account.
My appeal was rejected because Google detected multiple Google accounts participating in the Local Guides program.
I would like to explain that I have two Google accounts: one personal account and one company account. The company account was created only for managing my business.
Unfortunately, I now realize that I unintentionally published a small number of Google Maps contributions while I was signed in with my company account. This was an honest mistake. I was not aware that this could violate the Local Guides Program rules.
My personal account is my main Local Guide account. I have contributed for many years and reached more than 12,000 contributions, approximately 41,000 points, and over 29 million views.
I have never tried to manipulate reviews, ratings, or gain any unfair advantage. My only goal has always been to help other users with honest contributions.
I sincerely apologize for this mistake. I will no longer use my company account for Google Maps contributions and will only use my personal account in the future.
I respectfully ask for one final manual review of my case. It would mean a lot to me to be able to continue contributing to Google Maps.
Thank you very much for your time and understanding.
I’m sorry to hear about your situation. I can understand how disappointing this must be after so many years of contributing to Google Maps.
Based on your screenshots, it appears your appeal has already been reviewed and the decision was communicated. Unfortunately, fellow Local Guides aren’t able to review or reverse account restrictions.
If a Google Moderator determines that your case qualifies for any further review, they’ll let you know here on Connect. In the meantime, you’ve already explained your situation clearly and there’s probably nothing more to add.
I hope your case receives careful consideration. Wishing you all the best.
Thank you very much for your reply and for your kind words.
I completely understand that only Google Moderators can review this case.
In the meantime, I have already started correcting the issue by removing Google Maps contributions from my company account, as my intention is to use only my personal account in the future.
Thank you again for your time. I will patiently wait for any further review if a Google Moderator considers my case eligible.
After removing all Maps contributions not related to your business from your business account. Your should use the appeals form again using your private account.
Unfortunately, only ratings, reviews, updates, Q&As and photos can be removed. Just go ahead and remove them. But edits and new roads are examples of contributions we cannot undo.
I would be interested if you appeal will then be accepted.
Finally, I suggest you clearly make your two accounts differ (not using the same profile pic, user name, and profile texts) before resubmitting the appeals form.
If this is not successful, then there is an email address you can use to get further help with your account issue.
Fingers crossed.
I’m a little surprised to see your appeals reply because some changes were made. Could you please let me know when you received this email?
Ciao @ALESSANDRO06 .
Tocca ImpostazioniPosizione e privacy.
Utilizza questa opzione per rendere il tuo profilo limitato.
Hi @ALESSANDRO06 I really appreciate your honesty in explaining what happened. Since you have already identified the issue and started removing contributions made from the company account, I would complete that cleanup first and make sure only your personal account is used for Local Guides going forward. Then, if the appeal option is still available to you, clearly explain these corrective steps in your appeal and ask for reconsideration. I sincerely hope your years of genuine contributions and willingness to correct the mistake are taken into consideration. Wishing you the very best!
Thank you very much for your help and your advice.
I followed your suggestions.
I have removed all Google Maps contributions from my business account, and from now on I will only use my personal account for Local Guides.
I also found that the “Restricted profile” option was enabled on my personal account, so I disabled it.
Today I tested my profile from another person’s phone (not logged into my account), and my profile, reviews, photos, and Local Guide badge are now visible again.
It seems that the issue has been resolved.
Could you please confirm if everything now looks normal from your side as well?
Hello @ALESSANDRO06,
it looks normal to me now. At least the issue related to your business account seems resolved.
Independent to that, out of the 5,793 photos and 161 videos only 5,482 media are public. That is 472 of your photos or videos have been rejected by the SPAM filter. This happens to many local guides and it is advisable to keep the number of hidden media low. But again, this not related to your business account.
Thank you very much for your help and your time. I really appreciate all the support from the community. I have removed all Maps contributions from my business account and I will only use my personal account for Local Guides from now on. Thanks again!
