Report photos of closed businesses for removal

  1. How do I report a photo on a Google maps page that needs to be removed, because the business is no longer open? I know how to report that a specific business is closed.

Example: Highland Park Cafeteria, located in Casa Linda Plaza-Dallas, recently closed. I requested the page for Highland Park Cafeteria to be updated to reflect that it is Permanently Closed, but there are still a lot of pictures of Highland Park Cafeteria on the Casa Linda Plaza page, which contains pictures from various businesses, restaurants, etc. located in that shopping center.

When I click on one of the photos to report it, which of the current options should I use? There is not an option that clearly indicates “remove because it’s no longer open“.

  1. Which option/category should I use to report photos for removal because they feature “selfies” or just a picture of a person holding some balloons that was taken at a restaurant or bar, that does not really highlight that venue?

Thank you to anyone who can help.

Hello @SteveInDallas

I know the list of reasons that one can cite while flagging a photo is insufficient and inaccurate.
On that, you can suggest in the idea exchange for expansion of the list. Or, some ideas might be existing already.

Nevertheless, you can use the following alternatives.

You can write the exact reason by selecting the option “Others”.

Or else, if you do not want to make that tedious, you may use the following reasons.

For closed business - Not a photo or video of the place as the place does not exist any more.

For Selfies - Privacy concerns.
