Local Guides cleanup the maps is a sweeping initiative.
While contributing to remove duplicates and fake locations, I also thought to review my contributions.
Finally, that forced me into the following actions.
#. Edit of reviews turned private.
How to discover those? You can refer to this thread.
Fortunately, the count was negligible, and I could locate likely unacceptable content.
#. Removing all photos not visible to the public. The process is arduous. Though the quantum was minuscule, it underwent one exact day to delete fifteen such contributions.
Incidentally, there are additional stringent guidelines for the LG community as outlined on this web page. That further added to my task of cleanup.
#. I never upload group-photos or selfies or pics of children. An enormous relief.
#. However, in portrayals of some spots, faces of strangers were identifiable. Solution? The same treatment. Remove and replace that with one after blurring of the face.
#. Incidentally, I noticed some clicks in which vehicle registration plates were visible. Substituting those with blurred images, stayed the sole option.
#. Duplicates are not acceptable.
In enthusiasm, I had clicked shots through various angles. However, that was not providing any meaningful information.
Answer? Delete those mercilessly.
#. Pictures no more relevant. In the process of cleanup, some POIs get removed & then the photos at these spot start displaying the label “Unknown place”. There isn’t any point in continuing with that.
Anyway, who is going to look at those?
