How did it start?
It almost started with the opening hours.
I am one of the people who like to plan every thing ahead before I go out of my home. And, this is why all the details matter for me, things like opening hours, buses schedules, weather … etc. Any small change in the details may change my whole plan. Unfortunately, shops, companies, restaurants or even gyms are not really aware of the importance of updating at least their opening hours on google. And, they are not aware of the fact the people relay on google maps a lot to find informations. So, it happened for me a couple of times when I plan to go to the gym and I find it close, or when I do not go to buy groceries at quite late time because I am not sure if the supermarket still open. If this happened to me, I am sure to happened to much other people. This is why, it is my commitment to suggest a new edit or add information. Suggesting a new edit or adding information to a place is like removing an obstacle from the road. Although the obstacle here is not physical, it still making our daily life harder.
What else could be useful than correcting or add information?
Editing or adding information importance comes in the first place for me. However, information about my experience in the place still important. Taking a photo by my phone camera to a dish in a restaurant, it is much more appreciated to google community from a photo taken from the restaurant owner. In the same time, adding a review to a service from a client is more appreciated that adding the review from the business owner.
How do I know that my contribution was useful?
When I contribute with a photo and the photo get a couple of thousands view, I know that people needed this information about the place. It means someone want to google and not just navigate the direction, S/He checked the photos to make sure if this place is good.
Here, I know that I did favor at least to the person whose planning to visit the place. And, if the place is really good, it means that I did favor for the business owner as well
