Remove Beaches, Add Beaches - Support

Guten morgen,

war letztens im Urlaub auf Ibiza. Dort habe ich viele Fehler bei Stränden gesehen (Doppelt, nicht eingetragen), da ich sie aber nicht ändern kann versuche ich es auf diesem Weg und hoffe das hier jemand sie bearbeiten kann.

Bei dem Bild unter diesem Text, steht anstatt Strand Beachvolleyball-Verein. Aufjedenfall ist es aber ein Strand. Bei Rückfragen einfach posten.

Lokale Guides können keine Strände hinzufügen oder bearbeiten.

Wenn wir Unstimmigkeiten feststellen, müssen wir dies über die Option “Feedback senden” mitteilen.

Was Sie gemeldet haben, ist eine falsche Problemumgehung, die einige kreative Personen verwendet haben. Da LGs keinen Strand hinzufügen können, hat die Person eine Kategorie “Beachvolleyballclub” verwendet, und das ist falsch.

Auch hier müssen Sie, wenn Sie die Kategorisierung falsch finden, die Option “Feedback senden” verwenden und eine Änderung vorschlagen.

The word “beach” may have a lot of meaning @Varsin , so we need to be careful about the use of that word.

• A Beach itself, even if you can find “beaches” in Google Maps, is defining a specific kind of geographical location (like can be a river, or a lake). In there you can add a photo or write a review, but you cannot make any edit. Here an example.
• Then you can have “public beach” and “Lido” . both are categories to define an area in the beach managed by someone. The two categories are editable. The main difference is that While a “public beach” is usually free (no payment involved), a “Lido” is managed by a business.

The first thing that should be avoided is to confuse the Beach (geographical location) with public beaches and lidos, that are probably locate on the Beach itself.

Of course it may happen that some information is wrong.

• If a lido is missing, please read Add a missing place to the map
• If a place is not existing, or duplicate, please check Suggest edits to or closure of a place

You also should be aware that to merge two places, some preliminary edit may be necessary (category, name, position), and that you cannot merge a POI with a Location.

As an extra note, sharing a link of the places you want to show us (instead of a screenshot) will make easy to understand what you are specifically talking about

On top of what @ErmesT has already mentioned, @Varsin , I would like to point out that you should not hesitate to use ‘Never existed’ as reason for removal. It might sound a bit counterintuitive, but in the situation where a Point of Interest was created for something which is actually a map element, this is the appropriate reason to use.

In cases when you can’t edit a location on Google Maps, like with the beaches you mentioned, you should use the “Send feedback” option as @C_T suggested. That’s why I’m accepting his reply as the solution.

Ich danke euch für eure Antworten. Freue mich drauf, sollte die Karte ein wenig aufgeräumter sein. Sofern ich die Orte richtig benannt habe.

Temat już był poruszany 4 lata temu, ale chyba nic się w tej sprawie nie zmieniło. Na mapie są miejsca z kategorii “plaża”. Chcę dodać takie miejsce lub edytować wcześniej dodane, ale niestety nie ma takiej kategorii w edycji. Google co robić?

Thanks for reaching out to us! Beaches are usually geographical features like lakes and rivers, in that case Local Guides cannot add or edit them but can use the option to send feedback.

If you are talking about a portion of the coastal line managed as a business or accessible to the public, then you refer to gategories that can be added or edited following these steps:

Add a missing place to the map

Suggest edits to or closure of a place
