Reminiscing Guiding Stars Event-1 year ago

I am excited to write this post,am as excited as when I got my guiding stars badge last year. Exactly this day last year. It’s a nice and exciting memory. It’s a pity we can’t have the event anymore and all we have is our nice memory and we need to keep it green and alive. Aside the chat on the YouTube page,it was running very fast and quick. Lol.

My experience

I.was very busy that day 4th December 2022. I was travelling Into the hinterlands of Liberia. I just noticed all of a sudden messages in the WhatsApp group congratulations you are a guiding star !!! Ooops, what’s going on? I checked and wow the news is out. It’s was a good thriller for me.

  • Wonder what was the feeling for my fellow guiding stars? I’ll like to know really. Please kindlu share with us in the comment below.

One thing I love and always cherish last year was the cartoon image of the different guiding stars that were nominated for that part. Not everyone got nominated for that. I want to thank the local guides team.and the entire Google maps team for showing appreciation for our exceptional role as local guides. We hope there will be something exciting and interesting to replace the guiding stars event.

To all guiding stars '20,'21 and '22 batch, congratulations again amd keek shining as stars that you are. Keep active amd doing great that’s why we were all nominated.

Happy guiding

Cheers

Hi @SholaIB it was one of the most exciting days of my life. Even remembering it is wonderful. It was a wonderful feeling to meet wonderful people like you. It is a shame that it will not be held this year, but I am sure that I will organize much better events instead. Because we are a great team. :facepunch:t2:

That was such a sweet and emotional post, @SholaIB Shola

Your words really show how excited you are and how much you remember that day. It’s amazing how this kind of appreciation can last for so long. I remember very clearly being chosen as a Guiding Star on the same day as you. It was a turning point for me.

A powerful motivation came from a sense of purpose and a desire to support and encourage other local guides. I got involved with the community, planned events, and helped local guides in Rajshahi get to know each other better. Let’s keep shining together and give others hope on this amazing path!
