This happened in the year 2013 (December) when I got the opportunity to visit the beautiful United States of America (USA). As part of my job training, we landed at the federal Capital city, Washington DC. The immigration process was smooth and from the airport we went to Manassas, Virginia. We had our booking at the Best Western Hotel and stayed there for three weeks. The old town of Manassas was mesmerizing with excellent views of the countryside. We visited the famous attractions in Washington DC such as Lincoln Memorial, Smithsonian Museum, US Capitol, Washington Monument and National Gallery of Art.
After completing the on-site training at the law firm and clearing the exams we decided to spend our third week weekend in New York. So, we rented a car and drove from Manassas to the New Jersey. I still remember that roadside journey and I am sure those memories will always stay in my mind forever. We stayed for one night in a hotel located at New Jersey and the very next early morning took a subway to reach New York.
The view in New York was scintillating, all the skyscrapers were covered in Fog with light showers. We booked a ferry ticket to visit the iconic “Statue of Liberty” national monument on the Liberty Island. The light showers along with the fog made our journey to the Liberty Island more exciting and cheerful.
The Liberty Island site comes under the administration of National Park Service, the facilities at the island were good with utmost cleanliness. We had our lunch at a restaurant on the island and I bought a statue souvenir for my memories. We stayed at New York for one complete day and later decided to drive back to Alexandria city, Virginia.
We stayed in Alexandria for one week and got the training at US Patent office and met many patent examiners during our stay.
After the completion of my training program, I decided to visit Scotrun, Pennsylvania to meet my cousin and her family. So, I booked my train ticket through Amtrak and visited this community place which is located in Pocono Township. I enjoyed my stay for one week and finally returned back to KSA from Dulles International Airport.
My journey to USA was like a fairy tale, it was a mixture of gaining the professional experience through the expert training programs and visiting the popular attractions and understanding the rich US culture. I would love to visit this beautiful country again if I ever get a chance.
