Reconnecting with Peace – A Visit to Shri Mahaligheshwara Temple, Arehole-Navunda

After many years, I recently revisited the Shri Mahaligheshwara, Mahaganapathi, and Parvathi Temple in Arehole-Navunda, a place I’ve been visiting since childhood. This temple holds a special place in my heart, especially during the yearly festival, which is still celebrated with the same devotion and tradition.

The temple is located on the peaceful banks of the Souparnika River, adding to its natural beauty and calmness. During my visit, the surroundings were quiet and gave me a deep sense of peace and positive energy. The temple has been improved a lot—it is very clean, well maintained, and now has parking available too.

Temple History

This ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Mahaligheshwara (Shiva), Lord Mahaganapathi (Ganesha), and Goddess Parvathi. It has been a place of worship for generations and is believed to be a powerful spiritual spot for blessings, healing, and peace. The temple is an important part of the local culture and plays a key role during village festivals and rituals.
