Welcome to #monthlytopic of September 2020 initiated by @HiroyukiTakisawa. The topic of this month is “Sweets in your region”. Read along with me, I will take you to try some desserts at MK Restaurant.
When we mention MK Restaurant, we always think of Sukiyaki. But this time I tried some desserts there. The first one is Sticky Rice Balls in Coconut Milk. The main ingredients are sticky rice flour and coconut milk. MK Restaurant makes it so special by putting coconut milk ice cream in it and providing purple potato sauce. The best part is the coconut milk. It is rich, a bit sweet and a bit salty. This dessert is recommended.
Now the second one I tried is Steamed Purple Bread with Pandan Custard. The steamed bread is warm and soft. The pandan custard is a bit sweet and a tiny bit of salty, the flavors are just perfect. We dip the bread into the pandan custard when eating this dessert. This steamed purple bread with pandan custard is so delicious and it is also recommended.

@HiroyukiTakisawa I really like the sticky rice balls in coconut milk. I wish MK Restaurant in Japan served these desserts. By the way, here in Thailand, we adapt foods to serve Thai people here. Lots of varieties, for example, in KFC, there are rice menu and some spicy fried chicken. Someday I will share my experience about this kind of food. Thank you so much for your nice words here. @helga19 Thank you so much for the sweet words here. If you have a chance, try it. I’m sure you will like it. But this is Thai dessert. Is there any Thai restaurant in your area? If you are lucky that they have Sticky rice balls in coconut milk, you can try it. If that is the case, let me know how you like it.

I would love to try the sweet and salty rice balls in that rich coconut milk too! This was the first monthly topic that I contributed to, you can find my post here. In the post I spoke about my favorite desserts but it is between Banana Split or a Strawberry Sundae!

You are so right. You seem to know about it more than me. Basically the Pandan Custard tastes better when it’s warm. But that day, I ate the sticky rice balls in coconut milk first as I was afraid the ice cream would be melt. By the time I tried the Purple Bread with Pandan Custard, the custard was already cold, so I don’t know if MK Restaurant serves it warm or not. wkwkwk
