Initially, the idea was to gather all Sri Lanka Local Guides to one place to celebrate the new year day with Photowalk. Based on the list of participants, I had to change this only to a Photowalk at the newly built One Galleface Shopping Mall.
As usual, I have planned all the events with my checklist and then reached the place, @ThanulakshanS and @ThivHari joined me while on the way and we all went by my vehicle. Once we entered the mall, we saw a giant Christmas tree and soon we all started taking selfies with the Christmas tree.
While taking photos I received a call from a local guide that’s nonother than @ravindus . He was at the car park at the basement and I asked him to come up. This was the first time we met in person. Ravinthu and @kasunaaa were hosting their Lets Map Underwater in Hikkaduwa and you might be interested in their meetup here. yeh, @NipunT too joined us
All of us were excited about the Photowalk and we all started taking photos around the mall. Sukumal was crazy about taking some expensive Rolex watch in the mall and yes it is really expensive ($28,855), Thanu and Nipun also stared their photography. Kasun bough a Gopro and he was taking videos too. Ravindu were too busy taking pictures too.
We visited each and every floor one by one and got many new photos as much as possible, added new shops, restaurants. I have added nearly 15+ places from there. since this is a newly established shopping mall, I have tried my maximum to add those missing places to the map. I was really happy about the map edit status, all my new place addition were approved quickly and I was super excited about this. @JanVanHaver Thank you for teaching some tips while on Connect Live 2019
Sukumal took many photos from his iPad and he said he will upload later after reaching home. after the meetup we were standing at the first floor and had a fruitful chat, Kasun and Ravindu were really happy about joining us in this meetup and they shared many interesting memories about the Chrismas meetup.
I shared badges and wrist bands with them and finally, we wound up the meetup. This was the last meetup happened in 2019 and we waived off 2019 with lots of happy memories @InaS , @KlaudiyaG , @TorM , @MashaPS hope you like my RECAP
Of course Meetups and Shopping Malls together are the melting point, where all for the LG community comes together in the right way!! It is the double jackpot !!!

@IlankovanT , it was a great feeling meeting you and other fellow local guIdes during the Year-End Meetup at newly opened One Gallface Mall. For a long time, @kasunaaa and I wanted to meet the Local Guide legend from Sri Lanka and we weren’t disappointed that day. We had a wonderful time and had a lot of fun while contributing to the maps. But more importantly, the loads of expert Local Guide wisdom we received from you was invaluable. The discussions we had were really informative. The guidance we received helped us to grow as local guides. and thank you for the lovely Local Guide wrist band and the badge. Kasun & I really treasure them and wear them proudly.
