The Meet-Up has effectively being hold in a difficult context because of the threats to teachers’strike and the fact that students were during the examination period of the end of the first semester of this academic year. There were then a high presence of policemen and military at all the strategic points of the campus, but not everywhere. The teachers rioting did not took place.
It is because of the examination running period that some of the students suggested another meetup in the months of march or april. But we can do it every months. They listened very well to us; they well appreciated the fact of being a Local Guide. Many of them had no time to go with us along the campus (because of the exams). We went in the Faculty of Sciences (FS) and the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences (FLHS).
Policemen did not allow us to snap the two main intrances, but they are in good accessible way, even in wheelchairs or cars.
The University of Yaoundé I is the most holdest university in Cameroon. I was one of its students from 1990 to 1994.
