The moment I read the aim of the World Wide Hospital edit, I knew it was something worth while to invest ones resources. But after attending the Meet-up organized by @Sagir , I was convinced further that I needed to key into the moment and make an impact. As soon as the opportunity presented itself, I submitted a meet-up, it was going to be in Benin city of Edo state and it was approved.
Benin city was a new ground for me as far as local guides is concerned, and i was going to make it count. I sent private messages to scores of local guides who have posted contents from Benin City on connect, informing them of the meet-up. I know turnout was going to be low when i didn’t get any response, but I was determined to make the contributions anyway. I landed Benin city after a long road trip from Lagos that took 11hours as against the ideal 5hours.
I swung into action, went straight to the information center of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) to collate as much information as I could get. I was greeted by the beautiful water fountain just beside the information center.

Fortunately for me even though the staff at the information center do not work weekends and public holidays, one of the security was knowledgeable enough to give me some vital information. The Teaching Hospital was takover by the Federal government of Nigeria in 1975 and offers treatment for a host of medical situations. Also this referal teaching hospital opens 24 hours daily for emergencies and 8am-6pm weekdays for other outpatient medical needs.
I then proceeded out to edit the various departments and units within the hospital and took loads to informative pictures. After about an hour of mapping, even though not all departments were edited because of the massive nature of the Teaching Hospital, there was the satisfaction that WWH edit Benin City was a success.
