Last 24th of June we had a fantastic FoodCrawl in **Isla Cristina. **This town is located in the SouthWest of Spain.
It´s an small island that emerged after the earthquake that happened on 1755 and which epicentre was in Lisbon.
The summer had just entered so we decided to had our meet-up very close to the beach.
Sun, blue sea, food and Local Guides … The best mix for a funny meet-up
We choosed the Restaurante Ocenano Playa. Today I noticed that something strange has happened on Google Maps…
When I was linking the place to this post I saw that the restaurant is permanently closed !!!.… I am not sure about this information… Now, in summertime… a restaurant on the beach closing… I will have to check it…
We had our meet-up three weeks ago (the restaurant was obviously open) and I could link it when I created the meet-up…
[Note (27/07/2019): The place is open again at Google Maps ]
We started our meet-up at 3 pm. A little late but a reasonable hour to start lunch in Spain. We usually end eating when in other countries are begining dinner or maybe finishing… specially when we are having fun and non stop talking !!!
Here are some samples of what we eat:
I am going to present it in the order we eat it , the collage put it in the order it wanted :
2. Iberian ham, Iberian loin and cured cheese (1 plate per person).
7. Salmorejo (soup consisting of tomato , bread, garlic, vinager and water). (1 plate per 4)
4. Tuna belly (1 plate per 4)
1. Prawns (1 plate per person)
8. Scrambled eggs (1 plate per 4).
5. Fried variety (cuttlefish., marinated dogfish, shrimp lollipop) (1 plate per 4).
Whe had to choose between: 3. Tuna or
9. Pork sirloin
6. Icecream (1 per person)
One of the attendees, @MariaDelAguila have GlutenFree restrictions so she contacted with the restaurant the previous days …
Her impression was middle… I would prefer that she explains us her point of view . Meanwhile here you have a photo.
And we tried to reach the goal, made contributions to Google Maps meanwhile having good time
Another important aspect we checked were the facilities for people with reduced mobility .
There were ramps for accessing and enough space for a wheelchair
Toilets were not adapted…
After having lunch we decided to go to one of our favorites places in Isla Cristina with amazing views Espacio Capitana.
Espacio Capitana is an establishment of recent construction. The new Spanish laws require that new buildings must be adapted to be used by ALL citizens
In the following photo we can see how there is an elevator to go up to the first and second floor, not only accessible for people in wheelchairs or baby stroller but also for blind people with buttons on written in Braille and also has acoustic signals and voice
On the ground floor we also find a perfectly adapted toilet.
It was a fantastic meet-up with an incredible time together.
Even the fun started a few days before when we created the event together and @Aneyuxue and @MariaDelAguila joined de Local Guides Community :)))
And how @Aneyuxue made her presentation on the month of Jun and was marked as spam , luckily she reported it to the Local Guides Team and was immediately solved !!!
I don´t forget you @SandraCarlou , always ready for a meet-up
Thank you very much to the Wonderful LGs that joined the Meet-Up and to the ones that aren’t LGs (yet ) but wanted to be with us
And many many thanks to you for reading this RECAP
Greetings from the South of Spain,
Alejandra
