Well here we are, eight weeks into this ten week program. This week we concentrated on light, well mostly the lack of it. We talked about taking photos in the dark and how you can improve the light and the effect different kinds of light have on your images through a series of demonstrations. Just for fun near the end I did a live demonstration of light painting and how I do it. The workshop highlight was a wonderful presentation of Street Art and how it is found and photographed by @AniaKiser Ania!
At the workshop this week were Alpha, Ananda, Andrew, Ania, Anshuk, Devanish, Duriajiye (and his family - Hi sister!), Ewaade, Falguni, Guru, Jaison, Jesi, Madan, Maria, Nita, Ollie, Rajesh, Raju, Riya, Roberto, Rosy, Shreeya, Sovita, Stuart and Yuliia.
I’d love to tell you what I’m going to cover next week, but right now I cannot as we’ve already covered all the topics from the program. It’s ok I’ll figure something out that is fun. If you’ve got any ideas please let me know. Now week 10 is going to be something special. Next week I will be sharing a way for each of the attendees over the last weeks to share a couple of images for the exhibition on week 10. We’ll celebrate everyone’s work and how it has improved since joining in and practising the techniques from the workshops.
Signing off once again for another week and see you next Sunday at 8pm AEST.
Thank you very much @PaulPavlinovich for giving me a chance to speak about a
street art photography I’m always happy to have an opportunity to spread a word about my recent hobby and how Local Guides can promote street art and these well-talented artists, who create beautiful murals.
I loved the part when you were talking about painting with a light, I will definately try it soon!
I have thoroughly enjoyed all the sessions of you meetup @PaulPavlinovich
I like to take pictures just to carry memories. Trees and plants are fascinating to me. Now after connecting with you people I have improved my photography skills a lot.
@PaulPavlinovich a wonderful session with lights, I am very happy to be in all the sessions and learn something new always! i experimented some the same day using some colourful bottles.
thanks to @AniaKiser Ania, I have always seen beautiful Mural posts on her instagram page, now I know how she finds them thanks for sharing tips to find murals and art around, also I was not aware we can list them on maps, once we are back to normal I will surely collect some art and share
@PaulPavlinovich , the session was amazing! Everything was useful and fascinating.
@AniaKiser , I enjoyed your story very much. Last year I made a list of murals in my home town and shared it and the difficulties on Connect. And now, I have in mind creating at two posts about street art in other localities, and also a list. Thanks for giving additional inspiration!
Ssupport @rajuroyal 's request on wildlife photography, especially without pro camera.
As I couldn’t upload my task due to another relocation I’ll just share it here.
Oo I like this one @YuliiaZa I think you’ll get to talk about it tonight :).
I don’t do a lot of wildlife photography @rajuroyal and @YuliiaZa - generally what you’re going to need is a long zoom lens, a very fast shutter speed to freeze action on quick moving animals/birds/etc and total patience while you lay in wait quietly to see something appear. The approach isn’t different with a consumer or pro camera. The main difference is that the pro lenses are brighter and pro cameras usually focus faster than consumer cameras but there are certainly plenty of speedy consumer bodies out there.
