This week was a bit special because I had a surprise guest, a Local Guide who inspires me and who I greatly respect. I managed to keep the secret despite @Jesi spending days playing “Guess Who” with me trying to work it out. The special guest was none other than Vandana Solo Traveller @vvbellur

We enjoyed a great presentation from her of her photography, travels and the challenges of photographing yourself when travelling.

From there we progressed with the rest of the show where the main topic was lenses. I showed off the mainstays of my lens collection and what they’re used for and the difference in the pictures that each produces.

After lenses we discussed Macro photography followed by leading lines before setting the homework tasks.

We had a really long question time this week with lots of great questions so make sure you check out that part of the show.

Thanks to @AnandaSim for the QA of the workshop program and helping out during the evening. As always I highly enjoyed the workshop and some of the photo submissions this week are amazing. I’ll have my work cut out for me deciding who to feature in Episode 5.

Feedback was very good with everyone finding the workshop relevant and applicable to being a Local Guide. No need to take my word for it, @Ewaade_3A wrote her own recap which is highly detailed and a lot of fun to read!

@vvbellur you definitely crossed my mind! I ended up doubting it would be someone that has been attending the workshops for some reason, so I didn’t guess right. I really liked your presentation by the way, you gave some good tips!

Thanks for the wonderful workshop and recap post @PaulPavlinovich

I was so amazed to see so many Camera Lenses at once and get to hear about all the different functionalities we can try with them.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t make it to the 5th one. But I’m willing to try and do the home task despite having played truant. Could you share it here?

Hi @YuliiaZa the album closes in about 15 minutes! Anyway, the task is to take an image of a building from ninety degrees to the building to see how it stays straight in the image. If you can’t go out, any tall object in your home will be fine.
